60-MILE RIDE UPDATE

We are excited to announce the addition of a water/light snack stop at Mile 24.8, on the square in downtown Tuskegee. Be sure to stop by and get your refills! Note: This is not a full rest stop, it is meant to be a hydration station and a chance to take a quick break between Stop 1 (Mile 14) and Stop 2 (Mile 37.7).

As a reminder: The location of Rest Stop #2 changed last year from Mile 34 to Mile 37.7 and that is where it will be located this year: on the left side of Red Road at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

What to Expect

  • Your own bicycle, tuned up and in safe, working order
  • Helmet
  • Rider number, pinned to your jersey or shirt
  • Wristband
  • Water bottle(s)
  • Spare tube(s)
  • Sunscreen/Sunglasses
  • Optional: Garmin or other tracking device with the appropriate route downloaded

Mechanical support will be on-hand at the start and at each rest stop. These mechanics can help with flat fixes and other minor repairs, but please note that major repairs cannot be addressed during the ride, so please make sure your bike is road-worthy before the event.

Please arrive in time to be completely ready and lined up at the start line 15 minutes prior to your ride start.

Restrooms and water will be available at the Arena prior to the ride start.

All riders will be released in waves when the rides start. Please do not ride with anyone who is faster than your riding ability will allow. We recommend lining up according to your riding ability with more experienced riders towards the front and less experienced riders towards the back.

The rides will take place on operational roads with normal vehicle traffic, and will be supported by local law enforcement. All rules of the road will be enforced. Please do not ride in packs as the roads will NOT be closed.

This is a RIDE, not a race. Do not ride with anyone who is faster than your riding ability will allow.

We will have Support and Gear (SAG) vehicles sweeping the course checking for any issues that may arise. All riders should be prepared to ride the full distance of your selected route.

The course will be marked and volunteers will be stationed throughout the course to direct riders.

Additionally, rest stops will have light mechanical support and medical personnel available. There will be one rest stop for the 20-mile ride and three stops for the 60-mile ride. All riders must wear their rider number and wristband for entry into the rest stops.
